BlueNimbus is a student-led initiative from the Estonian Aviation Academy, bringing together engineering, creativity, and hands-on aviation development. This season, our team is designing and building an unmanned aerial vehicle for an agricultural mission, capable of carrying and accurately dispensing water. Our ultimate goal is to showcase our work and compete at the IMechE UAS Challenge in the United Kingdom.

Imeche UAS Challenge 2026
This year’s competition requires teams to develop an unmanned aircraft capable of autonomously completing an agricultural mission.
Our UAV must be capable of:
- taking off and landing within a confined area;
- autonomously navigating a predefined flight route;
- accurately dispensing the onboard water payload at designated coordinates;
- complying with applicable safety requirements and technical standards.
This task brings together aerodynamics, avionics, robotics, and environmental technology into one functional system designed with real-world applications in mind.
